Services: Assist in dissolution of marriage, legal separation, nullity, paternity and domestic violence cases.  Assist in obtaining and modifying child support, spousal support, child custody, child visitation and restraining orders.  Assist in civil harassment, guardianship and name change cases.

Walk-In Legal Clinic: We offer a Walk-In Legal Clinic Monday through Thursday mornings from 8:30 am to 11:30 am on the 3rd Floor Atrium of the Courthouse Annex located at 1035 Palm St. in San Luis Obispo and also at the Paso Robles Courthouse located at 901 Park St. Room 112.  Our office helps people on a first come first serve basis, so please arrive early.

Workshops: We also offer a Workshop to start or respond to a divorce case and a Workshop to modify child custody or visitation orders.  These workshops are available in Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo.  In the Workshop, we will explain the steps you must complete and answer questions you may have regarding the procedure or forms.  To view the dates for the upcoming workshops click Self-Help Center / Family Law Facilitator Schedule.  The Workshop is a group session so you must arrive on time.  You do not need an appointment to attend a workshop, however space is limited so you may need to return on a different day.

Services: When appropriate, provide a referral to an LRIS attorney in any of the following areas of law: Appellate, Bankruptcy, Business, Collection, Criminal Defense, Employment, Estate Planning, Family Law (including Limited Scope), General Civil Litigation, Landlord/Tenant, Malpractice, Personal Injury, Real Property.  Assist with other resources including referrals to local county agencies when applicable.

Cost:  $40.  LRIS administrative fee if referred to an attorney.  Attorney's regular fee will apply following the initial appointment.  Online request may be submitted at http://www.slobarlris.org.

Senior Legal Services Project Services:  Legal assistance for seniors age 60+ residing in San Luis Obispo County with elder abuse, durable powers of attorney, advance health care directive, landlord-tenant, and consumer law. Government Benefits Program:  Legal assistance for seniors age 60+ or disabled adults experiencing difficulties with application for, and/or management of their public assistance benefits including Social Security retirement & disability, SSI, and Medi-Cal. For appointment:  (805) 543-5140.
