New Tri-Counties California Superior Court Judicial Mentor Program

The San Luis Obispo County Superior Court partnered with Ventura County and Santa Barbara County Superior Courts to announce the formation of the Tri-Counties Judicial Mentor Program in September 2021, in collaboration with the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom.

The program exists to assist in the recruitment and development of a qualified, inclusive, and diverse judicial applicant pool. The Judicial Mentor Program is designed to identify, encourage, and provide mentors for all attorneys considering a judicial career. One of the chief goals is to communicate to all sectors of the legal community the uniform message of Governor Newsom's judicial criteria and commitment to appointing a capable bench reflective of California's rich diversity.

The Mentor Committee is devoted to informing and guiding any attorney interested in ultimately applying to the bench.

For further information and answers to FAQs, please visit the Court's  Judicial Mentor Program page or contact the Court's Community Relations Office at judicialmentors@slo.courts.ca.gov. Please provide personal contact information to allow the Court to confidentially handle any inquiries.
