San Luis Obispo County Superior Court Seeks 2026-2027 Civil Grand Jury Applicants

Applications are now being accepted for the 2026-2027 San Luis Obispo County Civil Grand Jury.

The primary function of the Civil Grand Jury is to investigate or inquire into county matters of civil concern, such as the operational effectiveness of local government agencies. A civil grand jury has complete discretion to determine which topics within its jurisdiction to investigate. Following an investigation, the civil grand jury may issue a report outlining its findings and recommendations.

Citizens interested in serving on the Civil Grand Jury are encouraged to call (805) 706-3611 or email grandjury@slo.courts.ca.gov to request an application by mail, or they may visit the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court website at https://www.slo.courts.ca.gov/general-information/jury-service/grand-jury/grand-jury-application to download a fillable application.

The term of office is one year (July 1st through June 30th). Civil Grand Jurors must be available approximately 20 hours per month. In addition, they must be able to participate in meetings and proceedings remotely via telephone and/or video appearance.
